Just something i was thinking as I plan to set up my collection in the upcoming months. While I have my thoughts on how i want to display at least my G1 collection, been thinking a lot about my G2 collection as well.
There is really no right or wrong way to display a collection, it is solely up to the person. I am just gauging to see how others may display their G1 and G2 collection that may include Transformers from different countries.
With G1, we know depending on the year and figure there was variations as we know with the Takara line during the 80s. So as an example, if you are fortunate to have any of those, would you display them alongside their US counterpart or on their own shelf?
I do not have many Japanese Transformers, so my 1988 Overlord will most likely sit on my shelf for that year alongside the US releases.
With G2, this definitely brings in a whole lot as well. While some of the lines/figures there are just redecos but some are completely new and never released in the US.. Example, in Europe, the Powermasters from 1995 (Bullitbike, Ironhide, Staxx, and Meanstreak).
So, with the ones that are not a redeco, would you keep them separate or just display them as a whole for the G2 line? Other uniques lines are the Stormtroopers, Trakkon, and Lightformers to name a few.
Anyways, may sound like a crazy question or thought, but with any collection there should be some thought and planning on how you want your collection displayed but at the same time have fun with it.
Again, it is a total preference but just wanted to see what others think or how you may have your collection displayed.
Thank you for reading and any input!
