Yeah it surprised me too.

A Voyager, Deluxe, and... core? Whatever Whisper is considered, for the same price as Grimlock.

Overquoting to say that the WFC Sideswipe mold is one of the best mold that came out in recent years. But the fact that that I stupidly missed out on the Netflix releases and the Alphastrike Counterforce set piss me off. Add the fact that these can only be bought at high price on eBay and there's no way I'll be able to get the SG and G2 versions normally for normal retail is the cherry on top of that sht-Sundaie.

I went with the Selects version because for some reason Walmart want $30 something for theirs, and while I' liked the blue I didn't like the battle damage/weathering. Plus I'm not big on doubling up on characters due to limited space.

The black one is the more accurate one anyway.

The blue one was just a bizarre inversion of his normal colors, a la G2 Sideswipe being black with red instead of red with black.

Earth mode Sideswipe didn't exist back then.

But a Earth mode Deep Cover Sideswipe would be an easy Select release... Unless they go again for the unobtainable exclusive bullcrap route.

Have there been any releases of both the Siege and Earthrise molds for any characters outside of the core G1 cast? I thought that for Diaclone, e-Hobby, and SG redecoes/retools, they only ever appeared in one and not both.

In the same way I would think it's very unlikely that SS86 Magnus would get a redeco for SG or Diaclone, especially when only one Commander class figure has gotten that treatment (two if you count Motormaster from the box set.)

I'm kind of liking the SG Sideswipe deco, particularly to use as a Decepticon. But I'm not really digging Hot Rod's look. So maybe I'll get this 2-pk on a sale and try to off load HR.

No, but that doesn't mean there's some unspoken rule that says it can't happen, it just hasn't happened. He's in the same boat as Nacelle, wrong alt mode because new media said it was OK. Clampdown and Deep Cover are a pair, they're brothers, they should match like the original eHobby figures (based on Sideswipe and Red Alert).

Thanks to pictures posted by @Waspshot23 on Twitter, we have new in-hand pictures of the recently revealed Shattered Glass Collection Rodimus and Sideswipe!

Rodimus is a slight retool of the SS86 figure, now featuring his classic goatee look. Sideswipe is a retool of the Kingdom Sideswipe figure, designed to look closer to the original Armada Wheeljack design, including new head and scarred hood. Sideswipe also comes with our very first new Minicon, Whisper, hopefully a sign that more minicons are on the horizon.

Check out the images below, and let us know what you think in the comments below!

I really like Sideswipe and Whisper's colors, and Hot Rod is my favorite character, but I just can't pull the trigger on this set. I don't like Shattered Glass, and I've only gotten Starscream and Jetfire, so this would be a weird pickup that doesn't fit with anything else in my collection.

I really like how Sideswipe's hood is a different shape and makes the SG version look even more unique than a straight up repaint. Whisper's deco looks neat as well, but not a fan of the bot mode.

Really not sure how I feel about the new head sculpt. Looks like they were going for Armada cartoon style instead of toy which I would have preferred. But either way those horns are pitiful looking.

Really excited for this set of the two SG characters I wanted the most. Gonna be nice to have the Lambo turncoat and the true lord of Autobot authority for my collection.
