Here's something a little different for the real vehicle and live action fans out there: have you ever considered owning the 'real' Optimus Prime and/or Bumblebee from the movies? Now you can, according to an auction organised by Barrett-Jackson. Fear not, Optimus will not be alone. It will be accompanied by its brother-in-arms, a 1967 Chevrolet Camaro used in “Transformers 4: Age of Extinction,” known as Bumblebee™.
Lot #1325.1 - When it came to creating the first live-action "Transformers" movie, the most important characterization was certainly that of "Optimus Prime." An entire team of artists and illustrators worked tirelessly, drawing potential trucks and cars, trying to zero in on just the right look for each robot/vehicle. When the film's production designer showed Michael Bay a photo of the enormous Peterbilt tractor, the director was immediately taken by the lines and size of the truck, even through he know he would face intense criticism for his choice - in the same way he did for selecting a GM Camaro in place of the original VW Beetle known as the beloved robot Bumblebee. Both of Bay's picks ended up enthralling new audiences as well as diehard fans of the sci-fi series. The Peterbilt, a more aggressive truck, was also used as Bay's tip-of-the-hat to Steven Spielberg's 1971 film, "Duel." This vehicle is one of the tractors used. It was a picture and stunt vehicle and is being sold "AS-IS" and "WITH ALL FAULTS" and is subject to execution of a Paramount Waiver. **SOLD ON BILL OF SALE ONLY. Fellow Seibertronians, in an exclusive interview with Brazilian site Cinepop, Mark Wahlberg confirms that he will be returning to the world of Transformers by way of Transformers 5. The full article and video can be viewed here.

Via entertainment media website Deadline, we have some news regarding the Paramount project for Transformers 5 and the expanded universe led by Akiva Goldsman - who appears to have been moved from the direct writing of the script for the next movie, and will be heading a similar project for the G.I. Joe and Micronauts franchises instead. Read more on this below, and head here for the full story!
After their Akiva Goldsman-led Writers Room experiment led to at least three movie ideas to extend Transformers, Hasbro and Paramount have set Goldsman to supervise a Writers Room for their G.I. Joe movie series. And they will go the same route with Goldsman to draft ideas for the Hasbro property Micronauts, with Goldsman supervising that as well.
This change of duties means Goldsman will supervise but won’t write the next Transformers installment. Paramount now is negotiating with Writers Room participants Art Marcum & Matt Holloway (Iron Man) and Black Hawk Down scribe Ken Nolan to write the script together. That course change was cemented by Paramount, Hasbro, Michael Bay, Steven Spielberg and producers Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Don Murphy.

Some things of note:
Slide 20 (see first image below) has TF5 teaser logo (nothing exciting), and some new product called "Alt Modes" - looks like keychains or something but it's a very small image.
Slide 23 (see second image below) has the TF brand revenue (revenue to Hasbro, not retail sales to consumers! HUGE difference!) chart that we've seen in previous years updated to include the 9 months out of this year so far. Pretty good start for them.
Slide 34 talks about expanding footprint into more global markets.
Some new Kre-o product on Slide 37, but it does not look to be Transformers related. Read elsewhere it is a Chinese market exclusive line.
Slide 38 (see third image below): appears to announce Micronauts return - as a crossover with Transformers. Kind of cool considering Micronauts' roots as Microman.
I enjoyed the financial slides. Interesting bit on 61 about slightly increasing resin costs expected for 2016.
Slide 65 mentions a new e-commerce site. Direct to consumer sales or just B2B?
Poor GI Joe. Also no sign of M.A.S.K. which was on the last (I think last, maybe the one before last) Investor presentation.
IGN has posted a short interview with the head of the Transformers movies writers' room Akiva Goldsman where he talks about the writers' room process and the human aspect of the movies. A snippet of the interview is below, click here for the whole thing.
IGN Movies: I wanted to ask about Transformers and what the writers' room process has been like -- because obviously that's commonplace for television, but not so much for movies. How has it been working with TV heavy-hitters like Steven DeKnight and Robert Kirkman on this franchise?
Akiva Goldsman: The room was honestly as delightful an experience as I've had. I think that we were just lucky enough to have a lot of good folks, all of whom were very generous. You know, I lurked around Fringe, and I learned a lot there. When you have a bunch of people who you respect, who are smart and talented, all trying to help each other figure stuff out, it's good whether you're all in a car heading across country for a road trip or a marriage and a family or a writers' room.
Currently taking place is the MIPJunior event, during which Hasbro has a presence in its Licensing and Entertainment department director Stephen Davis. During a keynote speech, embedded below for your viewing pleasure, Davis talked about the Akiva Goldsman-led writers' room at PAramount, and confirmed not only the fifth live-action movie but a whole series of pitches until at least 2025 (as a plan) - with a sixth, seventh and eighth chapter in the works too!
Brief mention for the other screen Transformers presence, Robots in Disguise, which is definitely a tweaked continuation of Transformers: Prime, at least from the corporate side of things. Information starts around the 10.30 minute mark- check it out.

A G1 color scheme on a newer mold figure is nothing new, it's been used for quite some time in the Transformers toy collecting world, but sometimes those color choices take solidly designed molds and really make 'em pop.

Generations GDO Leader Class Starscream and Ironhide!
These Asian region exclusives take two of the best movieverse Leader Class molds and redresses them to look like their G1 counterparts and both wear it well. Especially Ironhide, who is an excellent figure and is not one to be passed over, in any color scheme. Starscream is second only to ROTF Optimus Prime, he's that solid of a Leader Class figure and he looks like he stepped right out of the screen. What better way to make him look all pretty than to slap on his G1 counterpart's coat of many colors?

Via Seibertronians Absolute Zero and SyTF1 we have confirmation (and cancellation) of some of the rumours that have been floating around the interwebs for the past couple of months regarding Paramount's upcoming Transformers 5 and the potential animated feature.
According to Deadline, Akiva Goldsman has now a project to pitch for both the sequel and the Cybertron-based prequel from the writers' room, seemingly with Mark Wahlberg confirmed in some role, but not confirmation of Michael Bay directing yet. Read more here and a snippet below!
EXCLUSIVE: It’s pencils down for the Transformers Writers Room; the experiment has concluded and the early results are in. Akiva Goldsman has walked away with a concrete blueprint to write a Transformers sequel for Mark Wahlberg to star in for Michael Bay to direct, with production starting in June. Ant-Man scribes Andrew Barrer & Gabriel Ferrari will head off and write an animated feature, an origin story that focuses on Cybertron, the planet from which the good and bad Transformer robots hail.
In the news that just won't shut up about itself, we learn today from multiple sources and ultimately the Netflix blog directly, Transformers: Age of Extinction is part of the handful of films dropped by the streaming service as they choose not to renew their contract with cable company Epix, starting in September. Meanwhile, we have decided not to renew our agreement in the US with Epix, the cable network, which means that some high profile movies including Hunger Games: Catching Fire, World War Z and Transformers: Age of Extinction, will expire at the end of September in the US. If you want to see them on Netflix US, now is the time.
While many of these movies are popular, they are also widely available on cable and other subscription platforms at the same time as they are on Netflix and subject to the same drawn out licensing periods.
