We are updating the article below with more images of Studio Series SS 31 Battle Damaged Revenge of the Fallen Megatron from Robot Kingdom's Facebook page and Stanley Cheung on Facebook. These show the head in a close up as well as the darker plastic being used and the deco. We also see the back of the box which tells us that the backdrop will be the Egyptian temple where Prime battles both Megatron and the Fallen, leaving one with part of his head missing and the other without a face.
Knowing at least half a year's worth of the 2019 Studio Series offerings, there was one glaring unknown: SS 31. Well, now we know both what it is and why we had not heard of it before. SS 31 turns out to be none other than voyager Revenge of the Fallen (ROTF) Megartron with Battle Damage. That damage includes a new darker deco and a new head to reflect what he looked like at the end of ROTF. This was revealed on Hobbybase's Facebook page where it seems to be available in that particular store in Hong Kong.
The listing on Robot Kingdom tells us why we had not heard of it yet, it is an exclusive item. We do not know yet who in the US will be carrying this exclusive item, but judging at how easy every other Studio Series exclusive has been to order or obtain in the US, there shouldn't be anything to worry about.

Fans of "third party not-Transformers", bootlegs, and over sized knockoff products tend to defend them by saying such things as, "if Hasbro cared they would do something about them" or "they're legal in China, things are more relaxed there". But that's never been entirely true. We've seen Hasbro do things like ban their sale (and attempted to do so with fan art) at BotCon and once requested the removal of their coverage from news sites while China has protected three dimensional trademarks (like toys) since 2001. They even introduced the administrative raid system for speedy resolutions and special "well-known" trademark protections based on consumer knowledge.
And that brings us to the current topic. Hasbro has announced on their corporate site that they've successfully defended their Transformers trademark in a criminal counterfeit case in a Chinese court based on an administrative raid from 2017. Hasbro claims this is only the latest in a string of cases with more to come. In this case three defendants were found guilty including two unnamed people that have been jailed and fined and an unidentified corporation that has been fined as well.
Hasbro's full press release can be found below (it isn't very long or detailed). We realize this is a hotly debated topic so we ask for some civility when discussing this in the Energon Pub.
Hasbro Trademark Rights Upheld in Criminal Case Involving Counterfeit TRANSFORMERS Products in China
December 20, 2018
PAWTUCKET, R.I.—December 20, 2018-- The Chinese court in Dongguan city of Guangdong Province has issued a judgment favorable to Hasbro, Inc. (NASDAQ: HAS) in a criminal case involving counterfeit TRANSFORMERS products.
Hasbro initiated an administrative raid action in 2017, which was transferred to the Public Security Bureau (PSB) due to the volume of counterfeit product and seriousness of the case. After a thorough investigation, three separate defendants, including two individuals and one corporate defendant, were found guilty of counterfeiting Hasbro’s trademarks and fined by the court, and the two individuals were sentenced to jail time. Thousands of counterfeit TRANSFORMERS products were confiscated and destroyed.
With strong support from various Chinese authorities, Hasbro has initiated many actions to enforce its intellectual property rights in China, and this is the latest of several criminal judgments involving counterfeit Hasbro products issued by Chinese courts in recent years.
“We take the protection of our intellectual property very seriously, and we will continue to investigate and pursue those who infringe on our rights,” said Tarrant Sibley, Hasbro’s Chief Legal Officer. “We are pleased with the ruling in this case, and will continue to vigorously enforce our intellectual property rights to combat the manufacturing and distribution of counterfeit products.”

While most of the first wave of Transformers War for Cybertron: Siege line has hit stores, the Leader Class assortment has remained elusive for many, however YouTuber, doublej101, has just uploaded a video review of the forthcoming Leader Class Ultra Magnus! Offering the best look yet at this figure which should be in your hands very, very soon!
This video gives us a good look at the transformation and several size comparisons to Rodimus Prime and Optimus Prime from the Power of the Primes toy line.
We have embedded the video below for your convenience.
Will you be hunting this figure down? Let us know in the Energon Pub and stay tuned to Seibertron for all the latest news and reviews.
The latest entry in the Encore line from Takara arrived today. Which is amazing, considering it was just released in Japan and I am all the way in Canada. Shipping only took two days and was $10 USD (the total of my order including duty and customs was $140 USD).
The full name of this release is Transformers TF Encore Unicron Micron Gathering Body Color, meaning that this is the Unicron mold in the colour representing all minicons combining. The effect in the Armada show was a bright glowing chartreuse/green. This colour is done here though a combination of clear green plastic, green plastic, and green paint. This is a much more accurate rendition than the lucky draw we previously got which was more teal than fluo green, with quite a bit of grey plastic and less clear plastic than this version. You can view that initial version here.
You will find some images below of this toy in both robot mode and alt mode as well as Bug (his minicon) and comparison images with the original Armada Unicron. You can also see the box and how he is packaged. While it is the same mold we all know, here are a few points I found noteworthy:
This figure is not mostly clear plastic, it is a 50/50 mixture of clear and non clear plastic. The clear plastic pars are his chest flaps, the planet kibble on his back and legs, the forearms and hands, the crotch flaps and the thighs.
The wings and feet are not the grey plastic we have had before, they instead have a green tint.
This really is just a straight redeco, there is nothing changed to the mold nor the electronics.
This means that the problems of floppy wings persists and the electronics give red lights, rather than green lights.
The inner chest missile does not function very well on my copy and gets stuck inside 9/10 times.
Optimus Prime will be shipping late January with a price tag of £49.99 at InDemandToys and £47.97 at KapowToys.
With characters like Hound and Blitzwing being prominent characters in the movies, it would seem like an excellent chance for Hasbro to finally deliver a reissue of figures. What are you hoping to return alongside this legendary figure? Drop in on the Energon Pub and get that wish-listing gear grinding.
Thanks to Seibertron stalwart Cyberpath we got some new shots of MP-44 Optimus Prime. Coming in the form of scans from Figure King magazine no. 251 via Loopaza Mega Store there are a lot of shots we've seen elsewhere, but there are a few notable ones. We've got some examples of Prime's articulation (thanks to another pose straight out of the movie), our first look at the Matrix inside Prime's chest, and the humans interacting with the trailer.
At this point if you're still on the fence I'm not sure what it'll take to convince you. Is there anything missing? Anything you wish they didn't include to bring down the price? Sound off below in the Energon Pub!
In this age of knowing everything, it's not common to stumble upon brand new toys at retail we had no clue were coming. It happened yesterday though when TF fan gabumon found the new Bumblebee Movie Energon Igniters Power Series Ratchet at a Walmart in Northern Utah. The sighting was posted on the TFW2005 message boards. Like other Power Series toys, it is $10 and needs the motor from the Power Plus toys to do its gimmick.
Also, while there is Ratchet in the Bumblebee film, with a great G1 design, this toy uses the Dark of the Moon / Age of Extinction design with an albino looking robot mode. The vehicle mode is an ambulance though, for once. For those wanting this toy, its UPC is 6 30509 79526 0. Also, depending on distribution, this may be a rarer toy since it isn't part of the standard wave 2 case but actually part of a revision wave 2 case.
1x TRA MV6 ENERGON IGNITERS POWER HOT ROD
3x TRA MV6 IGNITERS POWER BUMBLEBEE CAMARO
2x TRA MV6 ENERGON IGNITERS POWER SHATTER
2x TRA MV6 ENERGON IGNITERS POWER RAM (Ratchet)
Recall that Transformers Bumblebee Energon Igniters Speed Series Bumblebee, the Volkswagen version? Well, did you want it, but clear yellow and missing some silver paint? Well I hoped you are subscribed to the Telebi-Kun magazine in Japan, because it'll be bundled for free in the 2019 April issue! This information comes from snakas blog, in which the folks there snapped a picture of the figure, as well as what they believe to be the release date of April 2019, as mentioned above.
This clear yellow version of Bumblebee is actually the first Japanese release of the Volkswagen Speed Series Bumblebee mold in Japan. In fact, I believe this is the first Energon Igniter released in Japan! I say this since, well, the Bumblebee toyline in Japan is looking a little sparse (with only the Power Charge Bumblebee and exclusive Leader Class Legendary Optimus Prime).
So, are you interested in this most likely, limited, release of this sweet boy? Let us know in the Pub forums below!
If you recall, we posted a news article on the Transformers Cyberverse Battle Base Trailer with Warrior Class Optimus Prime sightings in U.S. retail. And now, we have an English review of it! Coming from the YouTube reviewer "Bert the Stormtrooper" made a video review on both Warrior Class Optimus Prime and the Battle Base Trailer. He actually had a good time with the set, specifically the trailer, and how it looked. For those who don't know, the set includes a straight re-release of the Cyberverse Warrior Optimus Prime, with the axe gimmick, and a completely new trailer meant to hold figures as a playset.
Watch the review below, and make a judgement of the set, and tell us in the Pub forums below!
