Considering how quickly the last couple of rumors concerning
Transformers 4 were shot down by Michael Bay himself it should go without saying that anything we hear as this point should be taken with a grain of salt unless officially confirmed. That being said, we do have another TF4 casting rumor.
ITFN is reporting that
Jack Reynor has been offered the role of Mark Wahlberg's daughter's love interest. According to the report the young actor auditioned three times before being offered the role by Michael Bay himself. So far Bay as yet to confirm or deny the validity of this one.
ITFN wrote:Reynor will take over the lead role initially played by Shia LaBeouf, who starred in the original three films, which are based on the Marvel comic series. Reynor is expected to play the love interest of Mark Wahlberg’s character’s daughter.

It looks as though the next installment of the Transformers movie franchise will not receive a comic book adaptation. Director Michael Bay posted an update to his message yesterday that debunked the leaked movie script rumor indicating
Transformers 4 will not receive the comic treatment to help keep the movie's plot under wraps. You'll remember prior to
Transformers: Dark of the Moon's opening the comic adaption leaked and spoiled the film's major twist involving Sentinel Prime. See the statement from
Bay's website below:
Michael Bay wrote:P.S. I bet it is something from Hasbro. This time they are not doing a comic book of the movie because we want to keep our story under wraps. It must be their version of a comic themed Transformers story they are creating.

As many of you are probably aware a supposedly leaked
Transformers 4 script has been making it's way around the internet. We were actually supplied with this script a couple of weeks ago through an anonymous news submission. The script was allegedly recovered by someone working at a document shredding facility. After reviewing the script we came to the conclusion that is was almost certainly a fake and chose not bother posting it as news. Since then several entertainment websites, such as
Unleash The Fan Boy, have ran with the script and it's picked up enough traction to draw the attention of Paramount and director Michael Bay. Which brings us to the official statement we just received from our friends at Paramount officially debunking this rumor. See the Michael Bay's statement below:
Hi there,
Please find below a statement from director Michael Bay, refuting the earlier news about the "Transformers 4" script referenced by writer Steve Lemlek, being leaked online.
"Some Internet sites this morning reported that some document recovery guy has found a legitimate 120 page script of Transformers 4. I can absolutely 100 percent say this is completely false. The only two people in the world that have our unfinished script are Kruger and myself. Also we are only up to page 70 in our T4 script. Maybe this guy has a cartoon or something else – but definitely not our movie!"

Mark Wahlberg spoke with
collider about his upcoming plans including the start of filming for Transformers 4. He reveals that they will start shooting in May 2013. Transformers 4 is set for release June 27, 2014.
That’s why Transformers came about, because we had such a great time working together [on Pain and Gain]. We kind of complemented each other throughout the entire process, what he does and what I do and what we were able to do together, and then after that I was like ‘Dude we gotta work together again,’ and he was like, ‘Well I got a project, you interested?’ (laughs)
We’re shooting Transformers in May, and then I believe we’re gonna do Ted 2 right after. They’re working on it now and we’ve kind of gone through the negotiation process. The great thing about it is Seth’s ideas for the second one are sick. He comes from the world of episodic television so he knows how to tell the stories, man, in a way that most people don’t, like for instance The Italian Job we’ve been trying to do the sequel for 10 years. He’s a different kind of guy.

Thanks to the
The Hollywood Reporter we have an update of the Transformers 4 casting process. Big news came last week when
director Michael Bay confirmed that Mark Wahlberg will indeed take the lead role in the next installment of the Transformers franchise, but you may recall the earlier casting news that Paramount was looking for a young couple to play a high school senior aged girl and her race car driving boyfriend from Texas. According to The Hollywood Reported the the young female will be Wahlberg's daughter. Bay will begin testing for the two younger lead roles this week, here's the short list of actors and actress vying for the roles:
The article goes on to say Paramount is signing the TF4 actors to a strict three film deal.
In a separate article on
The Hollywood Reporter it was revealed that Thailand is being scouted as a potential filming location.
Ilt Jones, location manager for all three of the Transformers movies, has just wrapped up a tour of Thailand on behalf of Marvel, where he explored Bangkok as a potential shooting location for Transformers 4, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Industry people seem to have a lot of good things to say about the casting of Mark Wahlberg in the TF 4 movies.
MTV.com had this to say about the casting of Wahlberg.
MTV.com wrote:"It's an absolutely brilliant move," MTV Geek editor Valerie Gallaher tells MTV News of Wahlberg's casting. "It'll keep this franchise fresh."
"The guy can act - as anyone who has seen 'Boogie Nights' or 'The Departed' can attest to," agrees Brian Truitt with USA Today. "And he brings sort of an exasperated 'Come on, alien robots, are you kidding me?!' vibe that would make for a great and different dynamic."
Also,
TMZ had a phone interview with Michael Bay as he talks more about the casting of Wahlberg. He had a few things to say about the comments made by former franchise star Shia Lebeouf. And last but certainly not least he let a minor spoilerish plot point escape saying the new movie
would take place 4 years after the attack in Chicago as seen in Dark of the Moon. The movie will also see release July 4, 2014. The Michael Bay interview starts 18 minutes into the video.
