New Teaser for Takara Tomy Transformers Masterpiece MP-20 Wheeljack

Takara Tomy's current Transformers Masterpiece designer Shogo Hasui has just tweeted a new silhouette of their upcoming Masterpiece MP-20 Wheeljack! Wheeljack is scheduled for release sometime in the first quarter of 2014, but so far the only teasers we've seen are a couple of silhouettes. According to Dengeki Hobby Shogo Hasui will be replaced as the lead Masterpiece designer in 2014 by the line's former designer Hironori Kobayashi, who brought us MP-01 through MP-09. Seibertron member Primeultimus has shared with us an image of his newly acquired carded Movie Trilogy Series Wheejack. This is a white repaint of the Dark of the Moon Wheeljack with a more G1 looking head that was cancelled with most of the Movie Trilogy Series figures. If you recall, the Movie Trilogy Series was a Dark of the Moon subline that only released one figure which was Deluxe Optimus Prime with Mechtech trailer. Since then, we have also got a look at the unreleased Movie Trilogy Soundwave. Check out the image of what could have been below.



For a look at Wheeljack in his bot mode, we have the official Hasbro image from when the line was originally revealed.

We have some interesting news on Takara Tomy's Transformers Masterpiece line to report from the latest issue of Dengeki Hobby by way of Autobase Aichi. According to an article within the pages of the magazine the 2014 Transformers Masterpiece line will have a new designer, or rather an old designer, Hironori Kobayashi.

Kobayashi is no stranger to the Masterpiece line, he designed MP-01 through MP-09, although his designs for MP-03 Starscream were tweaked by Shoji Kawamori. Kobayashi was also the designer behind the Alternity line. He will be taking over for current Masterpiece designer is Shogo Hasui, who's credits include MP-11 through MP-19. This change will not impact the the development of Masterpiece Fan Poll Winner Star Saber who is currently being designed by Hishashi Yuki.

A fellow fan by the screen name Sinestro found several YOTH Optimus Prime figures at his local TRU. There were no Starscreams, however. He also provided picture proof of his find.

Does this mean we'll see it be released sooner by BBTS? That question seems to remain unanswered.

Here's a look at something different in the toy section: Rescue Bots Optimus Prime and Heatwave in their Playskool Heroes incarnations! Courtesy of the Smyths toy store website, we have a look at the robot modes of the two characters, which seem to reveal new alt modes for the characters, possibly a monster truck and a boat - will this be accurate to the new chapter in the series? It's been a while since we have seen any new images of the upcoming Generations Voyager Whirl figure, however CYBERGEEKS Alliance have given us a new image including in-package. The said package boasts of 3 modes. Looks like the gerwalk mode is now an official mode for Whirl. Just like his G1 counterpart, Whirl comes packing with many weapons.

Once again Japanese toy blogger Alfes 2010 brings us some great images of the latest Transformers offerings from Takara Tomy. This time around we get a look at the Transformers Generations TG-28 set featuring Megatron with Chop Shop and Starscream with Waspinator. Takara Tomy's Megatron has more unified metallic silver deco than and his Hasbro counterpart, and Chop Shop is much darker, basically brown. Starscream also has some noticeable differences. The Takara Tomy version uses a deeper metallic red, unpainted nosecone, and lighter blues. Like Chop Shop, the Takara Tomy Waspinator sports much darker colors compared to Hasbro's.
