MTMTE is my last TFs for the foreseeable, bar covers, and will hopefully keep the buzz generated by Death of Optimus Prime alive. Still love those robots though. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
TWO ALL-NEW TRANSFORMERS SERIES DEBUTING IN JANUARY
“Two Titles, One Universe”
Two Series to follow shattering TRANSFORMERS: THE DEATH OF OPTIMUS PRIME issue in December
San Diego, CA (December 21, 2011)— Launching in January, IDW Publishing is proud to offer TRANSFORMERS and comics fans everywhere two new ongoing TRANSFORMERS comics series-- TRANSFORMERS: MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE and TRANSFORMERS: ROBOTS IN DISGUISE. Under license from Hasbro, the two interrelated series are a direct continuation of IDW’s CHAOS event and spring directly out of the special TRANSFORMERS: THE DEATH OF OPTIMUS PRIME issue releasing in comic stores and online on December 21st. Both series will appeal to existing TRANSFORMERS fans and new readers. Featuring two great stories under one TRANSFORMERS comic universe, each series offers never-before-seen action, new threats and new villains that both current readers and those new to the series will enjoy.
“The response to the TRANSFORMERS ongoing series has been phenomenal,” says IDW senior editor John Barber. “This relaunch is a chance to jump onboard for anybody who might have been missing out. We’ve got big stories planned, and there’s never been a better time to read TRANSFORMERS.”
Created as a stepping on point for both fans of super-heroic and science fiction comics, as well as fans of the TRANSFORMERS characters, TRANSFORMERS: ROBOTS IN DISGUISE and TRANSFORMERS: MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE each explore the new status quo coming out of IDW’s CHAOS event including BUMBLEBEE’s new leadership position for all TRANSFORMERS. The war between AUTOBOT and DECEPTICON is over, and now the hard part begins. In the new world of CYBERTRON, there are only two choices: stay or go.
Helmed by writer James Roberts with art and covers by Nick Roche, RODIMUS calls on his fellow AUTOBOTS to leave CYBERTRON in search of the KNIGHTS OF CYBERTRON in TRANSFORMERS: MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE. This lost tribe of TRANSFORMERS characters is, according to legend, the guardian of the original Cybertronian culture and RODIMUS and his followers begin a quest that will stretch to the farthest reaches of the galaxy to find the KNIGHTS and restore CYBERTRON to its past glory.
TRANSFORMERS: ROBOTS IN DISGUISE, written by John Barber, with art and covers by Andrew Griffith, follows BUMBLEBEE and the AUTOBOTS remaining on CYBERTRON. Without OPTIMUS PRIME, BUMBLEBEE finds himself in command of a world gone mad. TRANSFORMERS: ROBOTS IN DIGUISE brings readers through the struggle to rebuild CYBERTRON as the AUTOBOTS, DECEPTICONS and civilian TRANSFORMERS, who don’t distinguish between the other two groups, all vie for control.
Each series will feature four interconnecting covers for issue #1. Marcele Matere creates the Cybertronian mosaic for TRANSFORMERS: ROBOTS IN DIGUISE, with Alex Milne bringing the explorers to life for TRANSFORMERS: MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE.
These two new, action-packed series are the direct result of IDW’s CHAOS event, culminating in December’s TRANSFORMERS: THE DEATH OF OPTIMUS PRIME and TRANSFORMERS #31.
In addition to the print editions, IDW’S TRANSFORMERS comics are available digitally through Apple’s App Store in the free TRANSFORMERS app, which features every TRANSFORMERS comic in one place. Many TRANSFORMERS comics are available in the Sony Digital Comics store.
TRANSFORMERS #31 ($3.99, 32 pages; full color) will be available in December 2011. Diamond order code OCT11 0323.
TRANSFORMERS: THE DEATH OF OPTIMUS PRIME ($3.99, 32 pages; full color) will be available in December 2011. Diamond order code OCT11 0326.

IDW Publishing and comiXology Expand Partnership
iOS Storefront Apps now powered by comiXology
read.idwpublishing.com webstore now live
All IDW Publishing titles will release same day as print
December 14th, 2011 – San Diego, CA — IDW Publishing and comiXology proudly announce the expansion of their digital partnership. Starting today, these IDW apps are now powered by comiXology: IDW Comics, Transformers Comics, Star Trek Comics, Doctor Who Comics, G.I. JOE Comics, 30 Days of Night Comics, Templesmith Comics and True Blood Comics Collection. All apps are live as of today, with new and old purchases alike syncing across the entire Comics by comiXology platform — iOS, Android, Web and Kindle Fire. In addition, all IDW digital comics are also available for online purchases and reading through the simultaneous launch of a new digital comics store at read.idwpublishing.com. IDW readers now have a true “buy once, read anywhere” experience.
“Powering IDW’s entire catalog across their bestselling apps is a privilege. The diversity of IDW’s line offers something for everyone, whether you’re a comic fan or not,” said comiXology co-founder and CEO David Steinberger. “With the recent addition of Comics by comiXology pre-loaded on the Kindle Fire to our platform, IDW now has a fully cross-platform solution that can reach new fans.”
As the first comics publisher to launch its own "in app purchase" storefronts for the Apple iPad™, iPhone® and iPod touch®, IDW has long been a leader in the digital comics space —having their own IDW branded application along with introducing several unique apps catering to fans of particular titles. The IDW Comics app offers the complete digital catalog, while IDW’s apps for special series like TRANSFORMERS Comics, G.I. JOE Comics, Star Trek Comics, True Blood Comics Collection and Doctor Who Comics and most recently 30 Days of Night Comics app offer those specific comics for those specific brands. IDW also released the first creator-based app, Templesmith Comics, featuring the art and stories of Ben Templesmith.
In addition, IDW Publishing has committed to a full same day as print release schedule, a first for the company. All new digital comics will be offered at full cover price.
“IDW has always been dedicated to making our comics and graphic novels as accessible as possible on as many platforms as possible, and this deeper IDW-comiXology relationship continues that commitment,” said IDW CEO and Publisher Ted Adams. “We are strong believers that digital comics expand the reach of these books and consistently bring new readers into the industry.”
This past October, during the New York Comic Con, IDW Publishing and comiXology announced that IDW’s library would be coming to the Comics by comiXology platform. Today’s announcement marks a new chapter in the relationship between both companies.
The addition last month of IDW Publishing titles to the Comics by comiXology helped lift comiXology’s same-day-as-print offering over the 50% threshold, signaling a sea change in the comic book publishing landscape and making Comics by comiXology the destination for all consumers wanting to discover and read the latest and greatest comic books in digital format.
All comiXology platforms feature the company’s Guided View™ Technology, enabling the reader to transition smoothly between different comic panels, mimicking the reading experience of a traditional print comic book. Purchases of comics through the IDW apps or the Comics by comiXology app will be available to read across top platforms and devices, including Apple® iOS, Android and the Kindle Fire, or on the Web at read.idwpublishing.com or comixology.com.

With all the excitement about the new Transformers ReGeneration comic I thought I would have a dig around and see if there were any pages of art left from the original Marvel run. Pretty much all of the art has sold over the last 20 years but there are four that still remain. One of the reasons for this is that they have taken a bit of battle damage. That said I thought it would be a good idea to put them up for sale on the website anyway. Also found is a whole bunch of stuff from the UK Marvel Transformers comic. It’s been great fun looking through these for many reasons, one being that there are many characters in there who have cropped up since and that are now very familiar to me. Back then I had no idea who they all were :-/ Just followed the script and the reference. These pages were also inked by me which is quite a rare thing. I do tend to ink my own covers but rarely ink interior art.
any way. Pop along to the SHOP and take a look. I am sure that like me you will feel that warm glow of nostalgia
