Takara Tomy is kicking off the new year with their first reveal of 2021! Thanks to Seibertronian Powered Convoy for alerting us to a tweet from Takara Tomy's official Twitter revealing Skids as the latest figure from the 1985 lineup to get a Masterpiece figure. This is very early news with only early line art and the 2021 release all we know. Surely in the coming months we'll have something more substantial to share, but for now this might just be the pick-me-up that some of us could use.
2021 is right at our doorstep so the Transformers due out first quarter were bound to appear sooner or later. And now, we have US sightings of the entire first wave of Transformers Kingdom. The toys have been shipping out from various retailers for the past week (Gamestop, Target, BBTS, ect), with the deluxes released first, but now we also have in store sightings:
Voyagers found at Gamestop in San Antonio Texas by Cprime18 who wrote to us.
Leaders were found at Target in Chicago (along with the Spike/Bumblebee two pack) by Jason Blue Boost.
Deluxes and voyagers were found at Canadian Walmarts in Ontario. We thank fellow Seibertronian TheEvilProfessor for letting us know.
2021 is right at our doorstep so the Transformers due out first quarter were bound to appear sooner or later. And now, we have US sightings of the Transformers Studio Series 86 voyagers and deluxes. Voyagers Hot Rod (who you'll recall is deluxe height) and Scourge were spotted at Target in Murrieta, CA today. We thank fellow Seibertronian Rysquad for letting us know. The Deluxes were found by Alchemist Prime Reviews (on youtube), who wrote to us, in Long Beach California. We have a receipt below. The deluxes in that case are Blurr, Kup and Jazz.
And while not exactly a studio series figure, those take up a big part of the Buzzworthy Bumblebee line and the two pack with Spike was also found at Target, this time in Chicago. The source for the sighting is a post on TFW.
Greetings Seibertronians! With sighting of the Kingdom line coming in, and some of you already receiving the first Voyagers and leader class figures, YouTube toy reviewer, Kremzeek Reviews, looks ahead to the future to bring us a review of the Deluxe Class Airazor from Wave 2!
This figure aims to replicate the characters cartoon appearance while giving the animal mode a more realistic look. Her mate, Tigatron will be appearing in the line as one of the future Voyager Class figures, in keeping with his media portrayal (as further shown by his Masterpiece toy)
We have embedded the review below for your convenience:
Will you be adding this bird to your menagerie? Does she take the title of best bird former from Energon Divebomb? Let us know in the Energon Pub and stay tuned to Seibertron for all the latest news and reviews!
The new Cyberverse deluxe figures have been out for a little while now but only recently have reviews popped up. Below you can see reviews posted on youtube by PrimevsPrime, Chuckdawg1999, DredgeX97 and Ironhide Productions. The deluxes being reviewed are Soundwave (twice), Prowl and Starscream. The Starscream review is a rather important one since this is the first time you will see the toy properly transformed and it does look better than in the promotional images. Let us know what you think!
Good news, Masterpiece fans! MP-51 Arcee is now shipping, and in some cases, has already shown up! I got a shipping notice Sunday, and a scant 36 hours later, she was at my door, thanks to Amazon Japan.
One Seibertronian, -Kanrabat-, got his even earlier, and was gracious enough to send us a fantastic and thorough pictorial review of the latest Masterpiece figure, the second fembot in the line (after Road Rage). Check out what he has to say and show us below!
GOT HER!
So here's my review and lots of linked pictures!
The box is your standard MP box. Small yet effective.
She come packed in vehicle mode with her accessories. Obligatory card and manual.
The vehicle is absolutely PERFECT. All the details are there.
Despite the arms hanging a bit low, the car roll flawlessly.
This beautiful BLURRY picture show that this Arcee manage to actually have the rear of the car.
The interior is perfectly detailled, down to even a painted dashboard!
You can see how everything tuck under the car.
Here's a comparison shot with all the previous G1 inspired Arcees (Except Animated whom I forgot.)
The "tire blow" weapon attach firmly and is pretty menacing looking.
Other guns can attach to the car as well but that look daff.
Transformation is long and hard, but surprisignly not frustrating. Also, everything felt SOLID in hand with nothing seeming fragile or about to break. The instructions have large pictures but sometime, some details are hard to make out. The magority of the transformation is to compress the panels festival that is the car shell in the most compact backpack scientifically manageable.
In the end, we end up with a pretty nice fembot with a backpack that is not too bad in person, considering that the car mode have NO sacrifices. Obviously, Arcee is back heavy and it limit some poses.
The visor is inside her helmet and it's easy enough to put in place. The faces are easy to change but you must mind the alignment of the face inside the head. It's easy to misplace it. But if you do well, the result is pretty nice!
The gun is very easy to place in her hand and it's SOLID. Also, her jointed hands are VERY appreciated. She have the thumb, the index, and the 3 other fingers as a single unit that can move.
Yeas, she have a high collac and "realistic" sagging "breasts". That's an odd design choice but it's not too bad. This Arcee is not the naive young girl, but an hardenned veteran. So it work.
Also....
"Haters gonna hate!"
Yup. She can ballance pretty well. I think her legs may have diecast so it help.
She can snipe.
Compared to the previous Arcees.
Arcee have blast effects compatible with her guns.
And a tiny gun that may reffer to a single episode. Complete with it's dedicated blast effect that can't go to any other gun.
Overall, was she worth the 180$CAN total, shipping and taxes included?
I have to admit, YES. Totally. Contrary to my previous purchase with MPM Starscream, I feel that here, I got the best deal and she's worth every single cents that I paid.
Could this Arcee be better? Maybe yes, but some choices had to be made. Here, it's the vehicle mode that got priority so the robot is a bit compromised with her backpack. As for the saggy chest, it may have been avoided, but still, I love that "older" Arcee.
I highly recommend the official MP. Especially for the Arcee lover who have all the official figures and even some Third Party.
The next toys from the upcoming Transformers War for Cybertron Kingdom line to get the gallery treatment are WFC-K7 Paleotrex and WFC-K3 Vertebreak.
Deluxe Class Paleotrex is a Fossilizer, similar in functionality to the Siege Weaponizers (which become accessories and weapons that are compatible with other Transformers). His alternate mode is the fossilized bones of a Tyrannosaurus rex. Core Class Vertebreak, while her alternate mode is a fossilized dinosaur that resembles a Dracorex, is not a Fossilizer.
Both figures are part of first wave of War for Cybertron Kingdom products which will be available at brick-and-mortar retail soon and have already begun showing up at online retail.
Are you thinking of adding these two unique Transformers to your collection? Share your thoughts about Paleotrex and Vertebreak as well as the rest of the Kingdom toys in our topic here.
The Transformers Buzzworthy Bumblebee line sure is odd. I am still baffled by the use Bumblebee's evergreen design on the box when so far no toy in this surprise line sports that design and now it's quite odd that this line is being found at retail when it still has not been announced. Maybe it's just to have more Bumblebee toys on the shelves, who knows. The Studio Series rereleases (or prerelease for one of them) have been found at Target. So this might be a Target exclusive line, once again we know very little about this line. The toys found were BB-15 15 Bumblebee & Charlie, BB-26 WWII Bumblebee, BB-40 Shatter and BB-74 Camaro Bumblebee & Sam, which all sport their Studio Series numbers.
But that is not all, fans were also surprised to see another Buzzworthy release that none of us knew was happening, a rerelease of the movie Mega One Step, also at Target. The deluxes are 19.99 and were found in Georgia according to this Reddit post, while the giant one step is 29.99 and was found in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, by sdtessmann. For those wanting it, the DPCI# is 087-16-7189.
U.K. retailer InDemand Toys has posted a slew of product images for upcoming toys, and from multiple lines, to boot! Seibertronian Shiningstar7896 alerted us to the Facebook post containing in-package images of Studio Series 70 B-127, Studio Series 71 Dino, R.E.D Arcee and Cheetor, the "Retro" Headmaster reissues, and the Ghostbusters Afterlife version of Ectotron. Feast your eyes on these new images below!
There are a couple of interesting things to note about these releases. First and foremost, Ectotron comes packaged in blister packaging, rather than the retro style box that his first release came in. Those retro style boxes look great on the Headmaster "reissues", and though the Headmaster partners retain their Titans Return name spellings, Weirdwolf actually gets his original name back, having been called "Wolfwire" in the previous release of the mold. The R.E.D. releases of Prime Arcee and Cheetor showcase their Action-Master (aka non-transforming) style figures, though curiously, Cheetor's head appears to be cast in a bronze colored plastic, rather than the yellow and gold of his package art. And last, but not least, B-127 is confirmed to be the full official name of of the figure.
So what do you think of these new photos? Do you plan to pick up any of these figures? Please feel free to discuss these below!
Transformers MP 51 Masterpiece Arcee is shipping from online retailers at the end of this month and it has even appeared in some shops like Takashiyama in Singapore. Cybertron21 has released a transformation video which you can see below. This will close the year of Arcee where each line had an Arcee release, be it Studio Series, War for Cybertron, Cyberverse and Masterpiece. Oddly enough, while the Masterpiece should be the most cartoon accurate it has a rather inacurate chest. In the cartoon, Arcee has a pink upper torso and a small white collar around her neck but here it makes it look like her collar is part of her torso, and the front of the torso begins below her shoulders. It's like her back half and her front half are not in synch with one another. Feel free to share your thoughts on the matter now that we can see exactly how she transforms and which sacrifices were made.
The Singapore sighting was reported on TFW2005 by their member Automorpher.
